About

Tracy Szanto

Greetings,

I am Tracy Szanto and I started Dreamland Machine Quilting out of my home in Penacook, NH in 2006.  This past year I moved my business to Hillsborough, NH.  My business is forever changing and expanding. I’m not only quilting but exploring more into the realm of fiber arts. I also like to share my love of art by teaching.  I have a passion for painting on fabric, most recently I’ve added making instructional videos using Inktense Pencils on Fabric, and can’t wait to share that passion with you!  My other passion is recycle and reuse, making trash into art.  I’m a collector of selvages, thread cuttings, and tiny scraps of fabrics, and love to incorporate them into my art pieces!

I am a member of the Monadnock Quilters’ Guild in Peterborough, NH, and a previous member of The Belknap Mill Quilters’ Guild in Laconia and the New Hampshire Statler Stitcher Group in NH. All these groups are extremely important to me. Not only have I learned a great deal from them, but through these groups, I have made lifelong friendships.

List of Accomplishments:    I was very pleased to be featured in the 2011 Oct/Nov issue of The Quilter Magazine. I was also featured in The New Hampshire ToDo Magazine in June 2013 issue.   In November of 2013, I received the “Judges Choice Award” at the Gathering Quilt Show in Manchester, NH.  I was honored with being voted by the Belknap Mill Quilters Guild to be the Featured Quilter of their 2012 Harvest of Quilts Show.  2014 NQA Judges Award of Merit at The Quilter’s Gathering.  2014 VQF Wall hanging 3rd Place Ribbon.  2015 MQX Computerized Quilting 3rd place Ribbon for my piece titled “Life on the Farm”.

My most recent awards were at the 2016 MQX.  I received 2nd place in a new category “New Traditions in Textiles” with my piece titled Spirits in the Tree, I also received a Judges Choice award for my piece titled Kevin’s Quilt.  This was a commissioned piece where I recreated Kevin’s artwork using his clothing, Kevin was a very talented artist who passed away at the early age of 21 but he lives on through his art.

I also received 2nd place at the Vermont Quilt Show for my piece titled “Ode to Grandma Jones”

I look forward to sharing my love of Fiber Art with you.

Sincerely and Happy Quilting,

Tracy Szanto
